Ellen Atlanta is the author of Pixel Flesh: Womanhood in the Digital Age, a brand consultant specializing in Gen-Z and millennial culture, and a columnist for Dazed. She has worked in the beauty industry for a decade and was a founding editor of Dazed Beauty and consultant for industry heavyweights such as BeautyCon, Estee Lauder, Milk Makeup, and The Unseen Beauty. With her focus on female empowerment, Ellen became a founding member of both The Stack World and Communia in 2019, reimagining social media platforms and creating better digital spaces for women and marginalized genders. In 2021, she was headhunted by UN Women UK to support their campaigns to ensure all women have safety, a voice and a choice.

Her debut book, Pixel Flesh: How Toxic Beauty Culture Harms Women, was sold in a six-way auction to Hachette in the UK and pre-empted by Macmillan in North America. It was the recipient of the Royal Society of Literatureβs Giles St Aubyn Award.
Ellen is a confident public speaker and has appeared on live TV news, on NPR, BBC radio, viral podcasts such as Fat Mascara in North America and Should I Delete That? in the UK. She has spoken at events for Cheltenham Literature Festival, York Festival of Ideas and London Fashion Week, as well as countless brands and workshops.
